Introduction

During the opening period of Tateyama-Kurobe Alpine Route (from April to November), it attracts a considerable number of tourists. Club Travel has prepared a two-day tour of Tateyama-Kurobe specifically for you. The itinerary starts from Nagoya Station and includes a journey on the Kurobe Gorge Railway and the Tateyama-Kurobe Alpine Route, utilizing six different modes (Tateyama Ropeway, Tateyama Highland Bus, Tateyama Tunnel Trolleybus, Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route Cable Car, Kurobe Ropeway) of transportation. You will have the opportunity to admire the magnificent snow walls of the Tateyama-Kurobe Alpine Route and reach the highest point of the Alpine Route, known as “Murodo.” In the evening, you will stay at the APA Hotel near Toyama Station. This is an unmissable opportunity for those who wish to explore Japan in-depth.

Kurobe Gorge Railway

The Kurobe Gorge Railwa is a sightseeing train originally built to aid the construction of the Kurobe Dam.oday the small trains operate along a winding, 20 kilometer stretch between Unazuki and Keyakidaira stations. The exciting 80 minute journey leads across more than 20 bridges and through over 40 tunnels, and offers visitors panoramic views of the gorge below. The trains stop at a few stations along the way where visitors can get off and explore.

Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route

Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route is a renowned mountain sightseeing route that runs through the Tateyama Mountain Range. The entire route was opened in June 1971 and connects Toyama Prefecture and Nagano Prefecture. The construction of the route began in 1952 as part of a large-scale development plan aimed at promoting industrial and economic growth in Toyama Prefecture. Today, it has become a well-known mountain tourism route not only in Japan but also around the world. The route stretches for a total of 37.2 kilometers, with its highest point reaching an elevation of 2,450 meters and a maximum elevation difference of 2,000 meters.

Day 1:

  • 7:40 – 9:40: Gather in front of the Nagoya Station Tourist Service Center. *The exact meeting time will be informed once the train schedule is confirmed.
  • Take the Limited Express “Hida” (Reserved seating in ordinary car) – Gifu Station – Mino-Ota Station – Takayama Station
  • Unazuki Station – Keyakidaira Station (Round trip between Sasadaira Station before snow melting) – Unazuki Station
  • Stay at APA Hotel Toyama-Ekimae with dinner

Day 2:

  • After having breakfast,
  • Depart from the hotel > Mount Tateyama (Tateyama Ropeway) > Mibe Plateau (Tateyama Highland Bus) > Murodo (Limited time: Snow Wall Tateyama / Expected to be available until June 25) (Tateyama Tunnel Trolleybus) > Daikanbo (Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route Cable Car) > Kurobedaira (Kurobe Dam) (Kanetsu Tunnel Electric Bus) > Kurobe Lake > Kurobe Dam (Electric Bus through Kanden Tunnel) > Ogizawa Station > Take the Limited Express “Shinano” (Reserved seating in ordinary car): Nakatsugawa Station – Tajimi Station – Chikusa Station

Tateyama Kurobe Alpine Route 2-Day Experience Terms and Conditions::

  1. Please arrive at the designated meeting point 15 minutes in advance. The tour bus will depart on time, and participants who arrive late will need to arrange their own transportation to catch up. Any responsibility and expenses incurred will be borne by the participants themselves, and Club Travel will not be held liable.
  2. If the number of participants does not reach the minimum size as stated above, the tour will be canceled, and a cancellation email will be sent 14 days prior to the departure date.
  3. In the event of inclement weather such as typhoons or snowstorms, a decision on whether to cancel the tour will be made one day prior to departure (at 15:00 local time), and notifications will be sent via email.
  4. Children under 2 years old who do not require a separate seat can participate for free, but it does not include expenses for bus seats, train seats, beds, meals, etc.
  5. For children aged 3 to 5, the fee only covers the rental of a bus seat and does not include round-trip train seats, beds, meals, etc.
  6. Children under 6 years old do not include meals or admission tickets and will need to purchase them on-site.
  7. Passengers under 20 years old cannot participate alone and must be accompanied by a passenger who is 20 years old or older.
  8. This itinerary is not available for booking by individuals from EU countries. Please be aware of this restriction.
  9. This itinerary is primarily conducted in Japanese and will be accompanied by Japanese-speaking guides. Translation software and printed instructions will be provided for information such as meeting times, but there will be no sightseeing introductions. Please be aware of this.
  10. The itinerary may be subject to changes in order or schedule due to factors such as road conditions on the day.
  11. Due to congestion on the Alpine Route, the second-day itinerary may depart earlier and the return time may be significantly delayed.
  12. The Alpine Route is located in a region with low temperatures. Please dress warmly and wear lightweight, non-slip footwear. Please also bring rain gear and other wet weather equipment.
  13. In the event of poor visibility, snowfall, inclement weather, or snow removal operations that may affect passenger safety, the walking time at Snow Wall Tateyama may be shortened or suspended. Please be aware of this.
  14. Please confirm the tour number on-site and gather at locations marked with “CLUB TOURISM (クラブツーリズム)” signage.
  15. The optimal viewing time for the Snow Wall and autumn foliage may vary depending on the weather. Please note that customers cannot cancel their orders due to weather conditions, and Club Travel will not be held responsible.

  1. Booking within 7 days departure is not accepted.
  2. The package price quotation is based on two travelers sharing one room.
  3. The quotation prices are calculated based on the lowest price of hotels and surcharges of the day. The actual prices may subject to change without prior notice. All prices, taxes, surcharges and availabilities quoted by Club Travel’s consultant are for reference only and are subject to final confirmation at the time of booking.
  4. The room that has been booked must be checked in within the specified date, otherwise it will be invalid.
  5. The check-in guest must be at least 18 years of age. The hotel requires the guest to pay a deposit or present a credit card upon check in.
  6. Once the products are confirmed, they cannot be changed, cancelled, rescheduled or refunded. This package is not transferrable, and cannot be resold, otherwise the confirmation will be voided. Due to the uncertain situation of Covid-19, all arrangement including but not limited to hotels are subject to Terms and Conditions of the service provider in response to the latest situation.

  8. Designated package prices are only applicable two adults travelling together. All itineraries must be the same. All accompanying guests must book together.
